The trip mines work off a ring pull with a 'slightly pokier that Mk5' charge in them, no delay. They come with a stake on them to attached to trees.
Just checked the records - CiA owns three CD players. I have one and have asked Yith to return the other two, apparently the batteries are not in good condition though.
With a bit of luck we can site them near mains sockets at UCAP (if you need them at all).
Or just buy some new batteries......
Aye, the big lead-acid ones are expensive though - we got cheap knacked ones from Oddball (ex-burglar/fire alam no doubt).
I had a faff around with the det box yesterday. Very easy to use, although strangely you can't close the lid when the box is wired up.....what's the point in making it waterproof!?!? A heavy duty plastic sack will be in order.
Also, you can't isolate the 'step, all and continuous' buttons making a full-on misfire quite possible. might be an idea to put some sort of taped cover over these!
Just out of interest whattagwan with the firing mortars? Were we looking to get them to be able to fire thermobarics? I haven't ordered any pyro for it, see.....

Here's an idea.....why don't we test-fire the mortar into one of F&O's open day games? Might add some interest and get some more people into the WW2 fold! 
We will have to show Jamie anyway.
He proudly showed us the F&O mortar and he said he was making several that we could use in our game.
He dropped a thermobaric into a piece of scaffold tube and thought it was fantastic when the cardboard case shot out! 
Errm, that very kind of you Jamie but we will be bringing a working mortar to the game so we won't need yours....
I started to explain what we were bringing but Jamie is one of those people who doesn't listen to a single word you say to him - we both found it very difficult to talk to him about our plans!
Which reminds me...
Jamie mentioned last time that he was organising a WW2 game next year at Swynnerton. As discussed a few days ago I thought we could do so ourselves, guessing that it was Jamie's usual babble and 'ideas but no action'.
But on Saturday he told us it was sorted but could he get some help from us? I looked at Guy and could see an expression of 'RUN AWAY!!' on his face. Heh, I thought let's find out more.
His plan was for a game build around an attack on a V2 base. But Jamie knows nothing about WW2 and wanted to know who would have been involved. Err, no one Jamie, the war was over and just walked in. But no worries, you can just make up a scenario, it can be a fantasy game.
He looked desperate! "Well, what about Norway then?"
OK, just British Allies then, it will be a small game.
Even more desperate expression.
Then the reason for desperation came out - he had to submit a fully fleshed out document to the MOD along with risk assessments - this week!
I really can't see him pull this off - looks like he is dealing direct, not with the outfit already running games on site as we would do. I think I'll see what more we can glean at the December game and if it's all gone the way of his expanded bunker complex at Bolton (that hasn't happened) then we can see if our approach is worth doing.
Yep, sounds like a plan.

34 x 3 ball grenades is 102 grenades. Phew! We have enough!

No barrage at the start of the day - troops will be in three different locations and we have a shed load to do.
The barrage will be at the end of the day and is the endex signal. It signifies the weather lifting and bombing runs finally halting any possible German progress.
All troops will be at the same place at the same time (Huy on the Meuse), so all will see it.
